  • The City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment

Who is this for?

These qualifications are for staff that are working in, or looking to gain entry to, roles in Assessment within the salon environment. The units and qualifications will provide people who carry out assessment  roles in their organisation with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieve a professional qualification for the role. They have been developed for those working in accredited learning, non accredited learning, the NQF and the QCF. There are Assessor Awards and a certificate at Level 3.

The qualifications consist of a mix of units - some competence-based and some knowledge based units. The knowledge only units (which are titled 'Understanding the principles and practices of...) allow anyone who is interested in or needs to know about assessment and quality assurance - but is not a practitioner - to acquire knowledge and information about the roles.

Successful achievers will understand the principles of assessment and have the knowledge to develop and improve.

Content

  • * 3 days theory and practical education
  • * One substantial written assignment
  • * Visits to Intuitions to carry out development and formal assessments within the assessor role.
  • Please note that if you have learners that visit Intuitions we may be able to visit you within your salon to complete these assessments

Attendance: Candidates will be required to attend the following dates:           

  • Tuesday 4th October 2011
  • Tuesday 18th October 2011
  • Tuesday 1st November 2011

Alternatively the above course will be available in 2012, candidates will be required to attend the following:

  • Tuesday 6th March    2012
  • Tuesday 13 March     2012
  • Tuesday 20 March     2012

                     £145.00 (discounted rate)

  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement

Who is this for?
This additional unit will give you the skills to carry out formal assessment of knowledge and is an ideal ‘add on’ to the qualifications above if you wish to further your career in the educational sector. This unit requires a further education day at Intuitions and additional visits to carry out assessment of knowledge and understanding with the learners.

This additional day is delivered at a cost of £100.00 and you must hold or be working towards:

  • Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment and
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment.
